Best things to do with kids in Plano Texas
Travelling with your kids can be extremely stressful. However, one of the ways to keep them occupied is to get in involved in something. After all, there has to be an outlet for all that energy. Fortunately, if you happen to be in Plano, Texas, there are a couple of things worth doing with the kids.

Recently opened in 2018, it is an all-inclusive playground that’s meant for kids between ages 2-12. It offers a myriad of activities from climbing and movement swings, to musical equipment and tactile visuals. The park is also home to a couple of ducks, a pond, some neat picnic tables a pavilion, hiking trails, and biking opportunities. The bathrooms are clean, and security is pretty good too.
Our advice would be to bring some shovels and pails to build sandcastles. Furthermore, it will come in handy at the volleyball court, which is made from real sand.

The Arbor Hills Nature Preserve
All kids love nature and animals; that’s why the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is the best place in Plano for all of that. In addition to being close to nature, it offers families some excellent hiking opportunities. There is wildlife such as armadillos, racoons, coyotes, snakes, hawks, turtles and bobcats.
There is also a nice playground, numerous picnic spots and bathrooms nearby. There is also the ice cream truck which never seems too far behind.

Oak Point Nature Preserve
It is the largest park in Plano spanning 800 acres. It is home to the 8 miles of straight, flat trails, the ideal spot for biking, running or simply hiking. The local nature centre has everything you’d need to start your adventure. However, our advice is to pack a few granola bars, juices and cold drinks. The park also plays home to various events and concerts every month.
Apart from all the standard park activities, there is kayaking as well as paddle-boats which your kids will be more than eager to burn a few hundred calories on.

Central Market
Whether you want to buy a few things from the grocery store, or perhaps eat out with the kids, the Central Market is the place to go. Not only do they have a selection of quality healthy foods, but there are also prepared foods complete with picnic tables.

Conclusion
Plano is one of the best places to visit with the kids; after all, it is the headquarters of Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Frito-Lay and even Pizza Hut are headquartered here. Now if that wasn’t enough, it is one of the safest cities in the US, with some of the best schools.
The only thing holding Plano back is the subtropical humidity. So, you’ll want to make sure to pack anti-frizz serum, some sunblock and drink lots of water. Make sure that your kids wear closed-toe shoes, especially when in the wilderness because Plano is home to many different types of snakes, and not all of them are welcoming to outsiders!
