Family Room Remodel in Dallas TX

This project was completed as part of a much larger project  incorporating both the family room and wet bar. The existing media room incorporated the all to well-known 1980’s style finishes. From a traditional brick fireplace, wood paneling and gold-plated fixtures; we assisted in the design for this homeowner’s vision of a new contemporary modern space.

Not only was the space brought back to life and up to date the technical equipment was as well. By installing the sleek contemporary style recessed electric fireplace we transformed this room from drab to fab.

This Family room living space renovation included:

Removal of existing carpet

People desire new flooring for a number of reasons. Whether you want to update your look or would like to switch from carpet to hardwood, you’ll need to remove your old carpet first. Getting rid of old carpeting can also be a big relief if you are suffering from allergies or asthma.

Removal of fireplace brick hearth and glass door.

The removal of the original 1980’s built traditional fireplace created the prefect space for the focal point of this transformed room.

Removal of lower section of pass through wall for new pocket double door unit

The removal of the existing pass through wall allowed the space to be closed off for privacy and sound transfer. The new sleek double pocket door not only offered much needed privacy to the space but also saved space.

New pocket door with obscure glass inserts

A pocket door gives you that space back. You’ll have room to arrange cabinets, seating, and other furniture exactly how you want them. A frosted glass pocket door is perfect for any small space because it not only saves spaces but also lets in light.

New interior doors

The flat equal five-panel shaker door offers the look of a handcrafted door with a design that suits the entryway of any home. With its solid core design, count on this door to stand the test of time.

New wall mounted 65`` TV with audio and video equipment relocated to closet.

An IR Repeater is a system that converts the infrared light from the remote controller into electric signals that can be distributed easily to remote-controllable components of a device. Therefore, IR repeaters eliminate the clutter of devices and wires by hiding them from the view. This allowed us to install all of the electronic equipment in a nearby closet hidden from plain sight while still operable via remote control.

New ceiling mounted wireless speakers

Built-in speakers save space on your floors and shelves. The wiring is hidden behind the walls. Paintable grilles make flush-mounted speakers nearly invisible.

New electric fireplace installed

The Napoleon Allure electric fireplace adds a touch of contemporary style and flare to your favorite room with its slim profile and sleek design. With the minimal frame and large viewing angles, your guests will be dazzled by the dancing LED lit flames. The on screen controls dim and disappear after 10 seconds to keep the attention on the flames, not the frame. The clear crystal embers catch the LED light and flames to bring an eye-catching glow to the unit, sure to grab everyone’s attention.

New hardwood flooring

Hardwood floors are resilient and long-lasting. With proper maintenance and care, they can last centuries. The greatest advantage of hardwood flooring is that it is easy to clean and maintain. This is exactly why the homeowners opted for the use of hardwoods in their media room.

New paint for walls and ceiling

When it comes to painting, gray is by far the most popular paint color. Sherwin Williams Software is the deepest color in the series. As you can see, it’s just a bit lighter than charcoal. Its blue undertones give it a super cool look. If you’re going far a deep darker room e.g. media room, it may be perfect.
